happy wednesday everyone! there is something about my job that i absolutely relish...& that is finding an object & breathing new life into it. often times well beyond it's original purpose! such is the occasion on my recent trip thru the heartland. driving home with an already full car...i happened to find under layers of dust + piles of old signs these interesting "drawers" {below}...
my first response was WHATISIT? after much deliberation i decided that they were flat enough to be tucked into my mini + still allow a peephole thru the rear window for sight. (safety first)!
i have determined that they must have been a part of contraption to dry seeds possibly. but goodbye drying rack & hello wall art! my vision came to be {below}
i am tickled with the look of them! throw in a mini clip hanger (a patinaWHITE favorite) and some of your treasured photos secured with fun magnets ...
... and you have your very own "treasure box"! and of course you can't forget the adorable label holder above the drawer pull...i stamped a message on it {below} if you fancy these cuties...they will be making their appearance this summer @ my shoppe of shady hollow!
another WHATISIT moment came in the same goodie spot when i found these lengths of wood with cutout circles. {below}
flashback 3 years ago in iowa when i discovered a number of these wood whatnots. i have been on the prowl for more of them every since &...just like that...there they are again! i scooped them up & like a cat with a prize mouse, i trotted to the checkout. & to be perfectly honest...i STILL don't have a clue what purpose they served in their past life. another drying apparatus maybe? doesn't much matter cause they work PERFECTLY to hold my tiny bottles of trinkets!
isn't it grand? old object...new life! perhaps you have a favorite find that you repurposed to fit your life! and i would love to hear about it!
