valentine's is a holiday for sharing the love. it can also be a time for being lighthearted + silly. this gathering of vintage tokens are quite sentimental...
back "in the day" the tidings seemed more endearing. i love the inside of the one {below} that asks the receiver to stop the "teasing". note that i scattered some DIVA sweethearts on it that sport contemporary sayings like LOL, FAB, CHICKS RULE & IT GIRL. cute & tasty to boot!
if you peek @ the valentine's {above} again you will see the very sweet homemade variety w/ the girl sending her tidings out the window. i was also the lucky recipient of a homemade greeting. i told my hubby once that i didn't need a fancy store-bought card. so you can imagine the smile on my face when i got this one {below}.
i had to share it {though i may be in trouble for doing so should word get back to him}...it's incredibly funny & sweet all @ once! i laughed so hard when he told me "look!...you're wearing cowboy boots".
i hope that his "portrait" isn't meant to be anatomically correct! ahem! silly boy...moving on...
cuter than a bug's eye is all i can say about these teeny tiny flashcards! oh so fun to make messages with!
and to leave you with one last giggle on this post...i spotted these vintage postcards {below} online too late to purchase as they were already sold out. but i had to show you a glimpse of their hilarious one-liners. {click photo 2 get closer}
i don't know about you but i am still laughing at my hubby's drawing. at least i know he could always fall back on a job as an artist for hallmark!
oh yes...before i forget...per the postcard {above}...what the heck is LEATHER KNECK-ING? for now i will use my imagination!
wishing you a day full of smiles!
