hey there everyone...time 4 a little show & tell!
well here we are barely a week away from the big holiday and i find myself still putting decorating touches out around our home. and though the sun isn't always "shiny or brite" these days...i have been pulling out the many boxes {below} of vintage glass ornaments that hail that very name.
what is it exactly about these little marvels that attracts me?? maybe their simplicity. or the glint. or the fact that it seems i am always able to turn up a carton of two when i feel the need to scrounge. judging by the collection growing in my studio {below} i have been doing much of that lately! these are all finds within the last few weeks!
another thing i find irresistible about these delicate lovelies is the occasional score of the older variety in original box. the graphics themselves {below} are artful! plus i love the MADE IN USA theme w/ uncle sam shaking santa's hand!
maybe it's the cheerful palettes they come in. the tiny size of these {below} just sweeten the "pot". these are one of the few things i can place in a candy dish and pass by without indulging my heightened holiday sweet tooth.
back to the topic of color...any that happen to fall into that aqua category are usually swept up for my personal enjoyment. not that i could possibly use all the countless boxes tucked under my staircase. {who's counting right?}
well...i did decide to part with a handful. i filled up one of patinaWHITE's "junk" wreaths {below} in anticipation of my holiday event for NEXT year. most of the time i barely think a day beyond the present...but in this case i thought i would avoid any separation anxiety by admiring their beauty for nearly a year! though that may be just enough time for me to decide NOT to sell it. guess time will tell!
i hope your days are filled with all things shiny and brite! be it the sun...your family...the spirit of the season...the new car w/ a big red bow. {how'd santa get THAT into his sleigh?}
be sure to pop back soon...as i am hoping to send a little more "merry" your way in the form of peeks @ our holiday home! until then...
be good my friends...santa is watching!
