hello there everyone! have you hugged your grandparent today? well...what are you waiting for?! if you're like me...you wish you could. i have not had the joys of a grandparent w/ me on earth for awhile. but happy memories of them live on. and since today is {GRAND}parents day...i thought i would share the love of those special people who touched my heart forever.
on my corkboard hangs a tiny clipboard with a pic of my mom's folks...grandpa + grandma foust {below} in their earlier years. this picture makes me smile. because they look so incredibly happy. and despite the sepia tone photo...i recall my aunt vikki telling me how much grandma loved the pale blue dress she was wearing. the little memo book above the clipboard is a happy reminder...DON'T FORGET!
some of my fondest childhood memories would be the get togethers w/ all the cousins. as in the pic {below}...it was a fun day celebrating my birthday w/ grandpa hanging out with us kiddos. love his overalls...he was a farm boy to be sure! more good times to remember on the farm...
on my dad's side was grandpa and grandma kroeger. {below}
i wish i would have known grandpa kroeger but i hear heartfelt stories of him. grandma kroeger...otherwise known as grandma lou...was a cookie extraordinaire. we shared laughter over sugar sprinkles during the holidays. she loved to craft. i remember making red felt cardinals for christmas ornaments & sewing pillows for dad. she was a fun lady. full of spunk. i wonder what she'd think of my projects now?
and speaking of projects...the last couple days have found me in the company of my visiting dad & stepmom from nebraska. vi is a big fan of patinaWHITE and i have fixed her up w/ some fun baubles on every visit. she knew by my blog that she liked the stamped tags i've shown. i offered to make one up especially for her. so we brainstormed up this cluster below for "grandma vi" with a number 10 marking the number of grandkids she has. i was pretty tickled with how it turned out and snapped a pic of it {below}
just shows that grandparents think the world of their grandkids...like us grandkids so much think the world of them. so wishing all your grandparents a very special day! you make the world a {grand} place to be!
and a happy day to all of you!
