hey there {show&TELL}! this week has been a blur. found me a bit busy on the facebook side of my world offering jewelry releases that have been a whirlwind of fast paced fun. as such i just haven't had the time to pull my thoughts together OR the banner art i wanted to share.
i know many of you who pop my little corner of the world here to see what's up...so in an attempt @ having something visually inspiring...i am going to show off some collected pictures that i captured in reflection of minnesota's very long winters. it's pretty amazing some of the moments or objects that seem so...well...everyday. but if you take the time to stop. and look. i mean R E A L L Y look...you may find you are seeing things in a whole new light!
so last year i was passing by a tree in town that i seldom glance at. a tree's a tree, right? well. not on this day when the air, heavy with moisture, caused frost so thick it looked like it snowed! {which it hadn't}. my eye caught not only the heavily ladden branches...but a fire hydrant. that i didn't even know was there until the contrast of the tree made it stand out. it seriously made me gasp. and then hastily do a U-turn on a dime to get a closer view. when you see it {below} i think you'll understand.
then more recently i was on the exact same road. just down the block a little ways. when i noticed how colorful a couple trees came across. the red cherries glazed w/ a little layer of snow...against the brick wall...in the early morning glow of sunshine...were simply stunning. see why i thought so for yourself {below}.
today i was coming home from my morning errands. and decided to drive by our city park for some inspiration. well i didn't have to look long when the light glimmered on a metal topiary frame making me jump outta my truck, scale a TALL snowbank...and sink my way across the deep snow to take a number of shots. {mind you...i could hear the thoughts of morning commuters passing by of "WHAT is she up to??"}
there was something just peaceful about the way the shadows of the thick cable chain + ironwork were set off by the shimmer of winter icy-ness highlighted by the rising sun. this was the shot i settled on showing you {below}
then there was the "off the beaten path" roadtrip hubby and i took last winter. we were on {1} of those minimum maintenance, travel @ your own risk - if you get stuck don't come 'a calling type trails.
there were SO many photo ops that day. he could hardly drive a block without me shouting STOP! but i have to say...one that continues to stand out in my mind...again...was just a tree. it was in a nondescript field i've probably passed a 100 times. however, i was awestruck for some reason this time. maybe the lean of it's branches? the moody gray sky? still can't pinpoint why...but i admired good & long. {as seen below}.
and lastly. a sunset. this event happens every night. but sometimes we are gifted an opportunity to see {1} so spectacular it leaves my mouth hanging. did so again today just pulling it up for this post. i was actually on my way home from a UPS delivery run. when the glow of the sky started becoming so intense i knew i had to try to capture it. now. mind you i am in an industrial part of town. really not a good spot to snap a photo. "where should i go...for the best view??" i ponder...the LAKE! ding*ding*ding! so a fast drive there provided what i had hoped. not only a magnificient sky...but double the awesomeness with the reflection off the water. jaw dropping beauty i was so lucky to see {below}.
now with mention of UPS above...and the pile of packages eying me across the room here...i best get back to my task @ hand. who knows. maybe i will catch yet another WONDERful sighting when i make tracks out later today. hope my photos have inspired you to take that 2nd look. and...
wishing you a day FULL of {WONDER}!
