what i wore...the key is 2 love

hello hello show & tell! it's due time i revisited some of my favorite segments...so i thought today would be fun to do a little dog & pony show of {what i wore}! 

you might recall a few posts back my mention of hubby's & my "sweet 16"...celebrating our anniversary of wedding vows. and we couldn't have made it this far without remembering that the key is 2 love...so on our date night out i wore a special artisan necklace highlighting those wise words.

so...starting top left and working clockwise...you will see the cluster of necklaces w/ the feature being the shadowbox key pendant. it is highlighted w/ a sepia tattoo inspired heart + the versatile "thing for rings".

a classic black tee + weathered blue jeans were the basics that allowed the accessories to take center stage.

moving on...don't miss my handbag. because until a month or so ago i wasn't even aware that my favorite boot company on the planet...old gringo...made purses!  and you can see i didn't waste any time adopting this beauty to keep company w/ my collection of cowgirl boots. 

my belt & shoes...or should i say skyscrapers...don't exactly "match" in color but compliment each other nonetheless with similar antique brass studs. the belt was a thrift store find...the black sandals were a end of the year bargain and are by lucky brand. 

so there you have my "the key is 2 love..." ensemble to celebrate our special day. and if you think that some of the baubles i highlighted might be the key you are looking for...you are in luck as i will have a limited number to share @ my holiday event in november. but the purse is staying with me!

what i wore...heavy metal

hey everyone! time for a little{what i wore} spread! i love to mix materials in all aspects of my world. not only in how i decorate but also how i dress! and a favorite combo would have to be that of rugged industrial pieces + softly romantic accents. so here's how things came together the other day...

since i don't own a skirt {or dress for that matter}...my version of girly-girl garb would be lacey...ruffled adorned tops. i layered them w/ a "studly" pair of jeans. more layers came into play around my neck + my wrist. not a good ensemble for going thru airport security...but worked for my lunch date!

anywho...back to the heavy metal. the longest necklace is a patinaWHITE favorite. so much so that i only have a few left after the hustle & bustle of the 4th of july holiday weekend now behind us. and my wrist is outfitted with not one...or two but three bracelets. from the left is my treasured recycled "extinguisher" cuff. then a new arrival to p.white was the burnished gold & blinged out number...the third happens to be a thrift store score from years past. 

i was rockin' the metal and you can too! because...my pearly rhinestone ring necklace has a lil' sister that just arrived! check her out {below}

and i am tickled to have scored a few more one of kind upcycled cuffs from my talented friend who amazes me with every creation he does! to wet your whistle...{here below}

what i wore...here comes trouble

hey everyone! look out...a whole lot of "trouble" is in our neighborhood. that's right folks...i have been taking up some new activities to add to my growing list of "i wanna learn to...". most recent...shoot a gun. this right on the heels of taking boxing classes. next up...welding. my boxing instructor said i was more of a man than he was. still trying to figure out if that was a compliment!

all my "manness" aside...i can still play up the girlie side of "trouble" w/ what i wore! have a peek @ the visual with the narration continued below...

i may not be a master marksman just yet....but i must say i am pretty fond of firing off rounds @ innocent 7-up cans. you'll see {above} i am packing a .22 rifle. but my favorite is actually using a pistol. villains beware. 

the whole ensemble was inspired by a sassy tee by COWGIRL JUSTICE. i picked it up @ a fabulous little shoppe in the neighboring village of perham. if you're in our neck of the woods...look for JEZEBEL. and tell marlene i sent ya. she's a hoot. you'll love her + her unique wares! 

blue jeans by true religion. i'm lovin' the loose fit of these babies. and i adore the horseshoe pockets w/ super thick thread throughout. if you're going to be getting into trouble...you might as well be comfortable doing so.

and speaking of comfort. my boots have been used & abused. years ago...i literally bought them "broken in" {pre-owned...as were the jeans!} off ebay. originally from sundance catalog...they still sell 'em today. the inlays are timeless. as are the boots in general. they will be with me for many adventures.

pistols & pearls. need i say more? the pistol was just a prop...not dangling from my neck...yet. i think it would be a one of a kind pendant. it may get me stopped by airport security though. good thing i seldom take to the air for travel. but back to the necklace. it's a beauty. want a closer look??  well i have a few to share @ shady hollow's kick off to the season. when's that you ask? well we are counting down to flea market fun beginning may 28th. more info...click {HERE}.

are you fired up? well i sure am...and i'm not just referring to the rifle! there is sure to be something you are looking for. everything except trouble that is! i will leave the rifle @ home. but the pistol...you just never know!

what i wore...easy rider

happy day everyone! the wheels of invention have been turning & i have a whole lotta of half-started {half-finished - sounds more productive} projects in the works but nothing quite ready to share. so how's 'bout a little what i wore segment to buy me some time? because there hasn't been a time yet that i have left the house half-dressed...though it's a distinct possibility the way "i roll".

aaah spring. that means one thing in our household. it's about time to break out the harleys. and since mine is sitting on the floor of the workshop in umpteen pieces...{seems hubby has his share of half "finished" projects as well}...i thought i could still look the part.

what better place to start then with a pair of dem boots. dem meaning old gringo {what else!} and topped w/ a layered bounty of garments + accessories. now back to dem boots. old school film here folks. these babies look like they fell right off the set of the american classic movie - easy rider. 

you probably have picked up on my love of a few key labels.

• old gringo boots. 
• 3j workshop tops. 
• and miss me jeans.  

so it won't come as any surprise that this ensemble is made up of all {3}. predictable. but i did throw a curve ball in there. a jacket by montanaco. a treasured gift from my wonderful in-laws. it's "tough girl" look is softened with velvet and ruffles. a rosy scarf helps too!

a light load of necklaces {only 3 today!} + my aviator sunglasses accessorize the get-up. those shades stir up memories of another classic tv moment, CHiPS. bill likes to call me "ponch" when i wear them as he thinks i bear a likeness to eric estrada's tv alter ego. now if i could just score me a shiny badge! 

so this easy rider will hop on her imaginary motorcycle. riding into the sunset to put the finishing touches on those project "halfsies". giving me the whole story to show & tell about! thanks for riding along...

what i wore...military moment

hello hello show & tell friends! a day spent puttering on projects around the house calls for a casual & comfortable getup. in my book that would happen to be camouflage! i have no fewer than {3} pair of camo pants in my closet.

i love the juxtaposition of...

- the belt was a find years ago from abercrombie & fitch. a time when they still let me in the door.  i may have to brave the heavily perfumed surroundings and young'uns working there since i still adore their apparel. 

- the whole enchilada. that reminds me...it's getting close to lunch...moving on.

- glorious graphics. the back of the hoodie by 3J workshop is emblazoned with a colorful character...and squint your eyes for the details of the miss me cargos.

- if you are in the market for some comfortable yet ruggedly stylish boots...might i suggest checking out these crushed leather harness boots by x-element. they are already" broken-in" right "out of the box"!

- lastly on the list...but not least...the ever important "tangle" of necklaces. i must thank shelley in sc for this term. it's my favorite new reference to the abundance of baubles necessary to make my ensemble complete.

what i wore...artsy*poetic

happy monday everyone! i am still riding the shirt tails of valentine's day here. last week w/ romance in the air i donned a flouncy sweater that makes me feel artsy & poetic to be surrounded by all those ruffles! so have a peek {below} @ what i wore followed up by a little summary!

clockwise~{top left} no surprise...i paired my sweater {by RYU:} with blue jeans {by J&CO}. it would be more noteworthy to mention me sporting a different type of pant...but they are my preferred uniform of choice! 

details details...up close peek @ my neck baubles. flea market find ethnic sterling necklace layered with a patinaWHITE offering...an artsy house pendant that fit right in with the theme today. it is beyond cute. a vintage rhinestone fragment is encased within it's patina'd walls. love it. 

"rear-view"...the back of the sweater is just as grand as the front.

a little finery goes a long way! i'm not one to follow rules. so it's not unusual for me to wear these thrift store "faux" pearls w/ camouflage pants. today they were right @ home in my cluster of necklaces.

brace yourself! if my neck is loaded w/ tchotchkes i usually keep my other jewels minimal. but...since i often refer to myself the patron saint of excess...i lived up to my title on this occasion! 

& there you go! an artsy*poetic feeling that inspired the {above} elements.

what i wore...feel'n festive!

happy monday everyone! i was feel'n festive today & thought w/ valentine's in the near future that an ensemble of cheery pinks was just what the doctor ordered! so here is {what i wore} today! 

for those of you interested in the nitty gritty details...here's a breakdown of what i've got going on. beginning with the top left corner.

*not my 1st rodeo* my belt buckles are so big they can double as protective armor. larger than life examples would be "rodeo buckles" often awarded & worn by true cowboys. i wonder what one of them would think of their prize combined with pink roses and leopard boots? now THAT would be interesting. the hand-carved nickel silver and turquoise number {above} came straight from the hot hands of a texas trader.

*feel'n festive* group shot of all the elements on me!

*giddy up* if you follow my blog i'll give ya one guess and one guess only to what collection these boots hail. ok. time's up. yep..old gringo. style leopardito. soft sueded leather...animal print....they're purrrrfect. {sorry, had to say it}.

*just rosey* again, predictable me. i find a brand & run with it. maybe sometimes TOO much...but i have yet to acquire a 3J workshop top that i don't covet. this rosey # is borderline tatty w/ it's raw seams and yet so very beautiful in all it's embroidered glory. good to know that these qualities can work together. sometimes i feel tattered & chic all @ once! 

in the layers of baubles around my neck you will find a collection of religious medals turned necklace....a heavy metal LOVE sculpted heart (remember..i'm feel'n festive!)...seed-bead rosary & probably one of my favorite necklaces of all time...a rugged turquoise cross. an eclectic mix of materials + textures. 

so there you have my festive feel'n for the day. LOVIN' pink...roses...sassy boots...plus rodeo buckles {& the cowboy's who make 'em possible}.

what i wore...over the river & thru the woods

good morning everyone! someone you know is having a birthday soon...& her wonderful mom made all her favorites for dinner last night {comfort food extravaganza consisting of meatloaf, french onion rice casserole and THE BEST bread puddin' you've ever tasted!}. so over the river and thru the woods to my mother's house we go! 

i decked myself in a cozy sweater...favorite grey denim jeans + my recent acquisition of perfectly blinged out black cowboy boots {HAPPY B-DAY 2 ME}. 

and for those of you interested in the who...what...where...here are the details on said ensemble. starting with the top left corner and workn' around clockwise...

*the maxx experience* tj maxx that is! i am a HUGE fan of this store...infact it's probably my favorite! i have scored more excellent + unique finds @ even more excellent values! and all you see in this first photo was from there...black boiled wool jacket, pinstriped tuxedo shirt and flouncy cotton scarf. each thing was picked up @ various times but they compliment each other well! 

*old gringo cowboy boots* style is milagro. giddy up! eBay find...

*over the river* actually this is more of the thru the woods shot...me next to our christmas tree! 

*trinkets* found objects necklace and cuff bracelet...each created by talented artisans from unique elements. the necklace has a relic rosary and the cuff is enhanced with a brass fire extinguiser tag. love 'em both! the giant turquoise nugget ring...thrift store find! nearly did a backflip that day {if that is even possible??}

*palette* this lil eye shadow sampler was from lancome. a surprise gift w/ purchase...lo & behold my colors. i couldn't have picked it better myself! 

so there you have it! my cozy collaboration of garments and an evening with fabulous family & food. on a side note...since i still haven't given you a full view of our tree this season...be watching for that post this weekend soon! thanks much for stopping by today and...

what i wore...chilly minnesota day.

hey everyone...i needed something different to post about. and a recent conversation with a passionate customer led me to a website of an artsy gal who blogged about what she wore. sounds simple enough! so...i am taking cue from her & running with it. now...there will be days that i am more than certain i won't likely share the yoga pants + hats...but a recent addition to my coat collection {thanks 2 lisa...another fabulous customer} begged to be featured.

so here goes...what i wore. yesterday to be exact. no special occasion. just a chilly minnesota day, fabulous new jacket and loads of necklaces {wouldn't have it any other way}.
