hello & a happy top of the week to you! a new idea that came to me yesterday has made me positively giddy to "show & tell". so you all are the first to have a glimpse @ a patinaWHITE original creation! the brainstorm...a globe sporting an assortment of vintage letter tiles. mounted in a shadowbox-like setting. the result...you will see {below}.
recently i was able to take in a worldly shopping experience at the always inspiring IKEA. these snippets of instructions in a variety of languages {below} seemed appropriate to share today...though i am still not sure what i am saving them for. curious to their translation? well let's just say those of you in other lands will be versed on how to fluff & care for your new feather pillow!
one more "souvenir" from my travels thru the isles of IKEA was a puffy white throw that reminds me of a flouncy number that a can-can dancer might be sporting. but for now it rests quietly on the end of our bed {below}.
and even though, technically, i've only got 1/2 the world in my hands {above}...i hope you take in the whole meaning of the message it sports...that love makes the world go round. no translation necessary!
enjoy your day!
Super cute and fun!!

hello girls!
thank you for your sweet notes! i truly always appreciate and look forward to them!
to answer a couple questions...the globe project was a labor of love. really. quite an undertaking. i am lucky to have a hubby with a well outfitted shop. i used his commercial band saw {very large blade} to cut my globe.
and miss karlene...the bedding is a mix up of makers! the duvet and the ruched long pillow are from the DKNY pure line from quite a few years back. there is of course a mixture of vintage linens and like i mentioned the "can can" blanket is part of is named ofelia available @ ikea!
hope that helps! thanks again show & tell friends!

Where can I get this pattern "Crochet, craft, bedspread"?
Posted by: mandy | March 21, 2014 at 11:32 PM
My grandmother started, and mother finished, my bedspread, which is the same pattern as the crocheted spread shown here. The pattern is called Water Lily. I found this link to a blog with the pattern and her notes from when she made hers.

It's even more beautiful in person than can be captured in a photo.
