happy leap year show & tell! since this occasion only happens once every {4} years...i felt it warranted a post. so to start i will take a leap back in time! nearly 30 years ago {way back!}! i can remember it as clear as if it were yesterday. which considering the many fleeting thoughts in my head...it's really quite remarkable.
anywho...my mom hosted a park lane party. upon which i was allowed to pick out {1} jewelry item. now most young girls would opt for a sparkling pendant. or their initial. nope. not me. i picked a frog necklace. because i was the kid who chased down garter snakes& traipsed thru the sand in search of toads. so it only seemed fitting that i would want the frog. which i still happen to have in my possession to this day {below}. once a collector...always a collector.
now let's leap to present day. i thought a token might be a nice surprise for one of my lucky blog visitors...so i put together a little cluster in honor of our "leaps". the collage charm front sports a happy girl in action w/ the verse ready, set go! and on the reverse is a reminder that we sometimes need to just take the leap into life! you never know what you might be missing otherwise! i then added a bit of sparkle w/ a stack of ruby gems + hand stamp'd up a favorite saying of mine on a tiny sterling disc. end result {below}
prize * prize * prize
all you have to do to have a chance to make this your own is write a comment @ the end of this post! simple. that's it! you can be as long or short as you like. share a little story of something that makes your memories take a leap back...or just a shout out of "hey...i really want this!" i will sign you up & randomly select a lucky "leapster"! you've got til MARCH 6th so hop to it!
now i must mention that i spend a little less time chasing toads these days. though i won't deny i peek @ one in the garden now and then. but there is still a frog i am always hunting. and that would be those darn flower frogs. i have scores of them. infact you may have noticed them in the photo of the charm back {above}. maybe in another 30 years i will be talking about this collection. goodness knows what the new one will be @ that time!
take the leap my friends! i look forward to hearing from you!
what a wonderful sentiment to LEAP INTO LIFE - so encouraging & inspiring. I'd adore winning this goodie!! Ready Set GO is right?! xo

I love that phrase, because everyday life sometimes gets you down and we need to be reminded or urged to Leap back into life, enjoying the things that make you smile. I have to admit I never liked frogs as I was a sissy girl, but I do share your love and passion for "vintage". I would love to enter your giveaway. Thanks

As a newly retired teacher--I am leaping into a new life. I have only been scrapbooking for 2 1/2 years.....so my grown daughters age getting 12 x 12 books in particular order. I find some pictures of days gone by scrap it, book it, and share the story that I can remember from leaping back in time. It has been great because they remember the story different and I often relate the story from my side and then theirs. Thank you for Leaping a gift to one of us. I have my fingers crossed ! ksh

I grew up in Houston, and we would have little tiny frogs ALL over our back yard at certain times of the year. It totally freaked me out, to have them everywhere, and to sometimes have them appear in the house (!!!oh, i'd have nightmares!)...so I don't love em as much as you do. I DO, however, LOVE the necklace, and would jump up and down if I won it. 'Leap into life' is a terrific sentiment. Love the stamping on the little disc, too. So cute!

We have a frog hiding under our deck. When the window is open we can hear him calling out. Your "Ready Set Go" looks like me in front of my childhood house...probably playing tag with my brothers. I would be honored to give this a good home. Cyndi

OK, Beth I have a great Leap Day story for you...or not so much...12 years ago today, I lost control of my vehicle, hit an electrical pole, started a fire in nearby trees, and knocked out power for 5 towns for a few hours! Crazy. Luckily I wasn't hurt...my vehicle wasn't so lucky! So I could use some good karma to remember this LEAP DAY!!! :) - Jen

And I am amazed at your workmanship on the charms! I have begun to do solder work, and at this point, can only dream of mine looking taht gorgeous. What a fabulous pendant set, I'd love to wear it.
And I have a collecting obsession with the flower frogs too! (a friend just scored a cigar box full of 8 of them) Happy Leap Day!

Love this Beth. Always a great reminder to take the leap of faith and go with what life brings. Making memories is one thing I always look to do with my family whether big or small.
Something to look back on, smile and laugh about. We are currently in Riviera Maya making memories that will last a lifetime. See you back at the gym next week!
