studioEVENT coming up!

hey there friends of show&TELL! seems like i was just planning things to get my little shadyHOLLOW cottage up & going this past spring. and here we are early october and it's time to make the OFFICIAL announcement in regards to my annual studioEVENT! 

mark your calendars...i will be open (1) weekend...days + times {seen below}...for a whirlWIND of activity @ my home studio.

 

most people have junkDRAWERS...well i have my share of junkPILES.

 

it was time i took the "bull by the horns"...or the rust by the reigns...& did some assessing of the "stash". has been quite a process as i have a tendancy of being an insatiable collector (um..hoarder). and try as i might it's hard to keep everything "organized". heck i gave that up years ago...but i DID want to spend some time sorting. felt really good about the controlled chaos i feel like i've achieved.

also feelin' AWESOME @ the progress happening inside my studio. i've opened it all up again this year...wide open spaces & a large center area dedicated to my jewelry selection {see the early setUP stages below}

 

 

i've got a number of things i am working on in anticipation of the BIG event...

 

 

i will fill the spaces up w/ a nice mix of said "junk" and of course a selection of "jewels".

 

 

***PLEASE NOTE***...if you've been attending my shows i WILL NOT be sending out a mailer/postcard this year. i am using facebook & my blog plus word of mouth to make this show happen so if you can spread that word i would be VERY grateful. it will help keep these fun events possible.

2012 {miniEVENT} in review

greetings! well, i can't hardly believe it's been a week since my {miniEVENT} took place! as if the days don't go by fast enough on their own...throw in picking away @ customer orders...some holiday decorating...doing a little offering of baubles online thru facebook...& just taking time to BREATHE.

plus the fact that in the winter...i am hard "started" without the sunshine when days are gray (as they often are). never-mind that when we are lucky enough to have some sun...it only makes a brief appearance sneaking away around 5pm. 

but before yet another day passes...i am determined to give those of you a peek @ what some of the surroundings looked like before and throughout the couple days of the {miniEVENT}. so here goes!

the girls and i were ready for opening on saturday...and since my helpers and i never got in a photo opp...i will show my other groups of "gals". {below}

 

 

they were outfitted in unique layers of artisan pieces by my own hand as well as the creations of a few talented ladies i am blessed to know and collaborate with. here's a peek @ some lovelies {below}

my "helper" girls & i kept very busy restocking and replenishing as we could. both days we bundled boxwood & bundled some more. always a crowd favorite ... i was able to get just the last handful of stock my vendor had. here's my victorian plant stand doing it's job of holding stash of all the "green" {below}.

 

 

originally the idea of this {miniEVENT} was to keep it simple...but i found myself filling corners and tables w/ the usual patinaWHITE offering of created & collected treasures you and i both appreciate. i am into the "heavy metal" and it was obvious w/ the spattering of rusty accents throughout. i really {LOVE} these pipe fittings {below}

 

 

there wasn't a shortage of jewelry bits-n-pieces with trays of baubles available alacarte. the rhinestone studded initials sparkled in their usual glory...LETTERshine...

 

 

here's a peek @ one area fluffed and nearly ready for action...{below}

 

 

my "fawn"dness for deer came into play with this pinecone fella hanging out in the pretty boxwood wreaths that were fresh and fabulous...{below}

 

 

he didn't stick around long...so i continually filled the voids w/ stashes that were tucked away. my wall of "frame" was filled up and ready for the sunday crowd as seen {below}.

 

 

the deer theme continued with a super cool ANTLER coat-rack {below} that could only be "topped" by the recycled metal letters that proclaim their heritage. 

 

 

oh what the heck. just {1} more deer for your peeking pleasure and then i will move on. this guy...in his raw steel glory...was right @ home amidst the evergreens of my GIANT door wreath.

i have to giggle for two reasons @ this photo {below}. because 1st off...nobody likes a quitter which is why i found myself sneaking a chocolate energy "booster" often...AND because i couldn't say no when a gal wanted the galvanized chick feeder that housed said goodies even though it wasn't my intent on selling it. but i did and of course the candy stayed...

 

 

then like the wind {mill below}...the {miniEVENT} was over. 

 

 

i sure hope that those of you who ventured out & braved the crowds had a great time...(boy i miss my clock on a rope {seen below} already)

 

 

i know the turnout and your energy + excitement sent me...

 

 

...but i sure did find myself sleeping like a baby monday morning!

 

 

again...a great big THANK*YOU for your visit...notes...kind words + niceties you express. it wouldn't be any fun to have this passion and not be able to share it with others. i hope you will continue to pop by here @ my corner of the world the rest of 2012 plus into 2013 & beyond!

the DOG & PONY {show}

hello...happy day to you! thought i would let those of you know who are in or might be near my neighborhood the first weekend of november that patinaWHITE will be packing up the {DOG & PONY show} and showing some wares @ the

perham, minnesota FOCUS christmas bazaar on

NOVEMBER 3rd 2012 

 

i'm doing this due to the fact i won't be having my annual holiday event from my home studio this year and wanting to still give many of you a chance @ some of the thoughtful collected + created wares you've come to expect from my shows. so not only can you peruse my goodies...but you can also take in the bountiful displays of other artisans w/ their creations as well! 

it will be located...as i mentioned...in perham, minnesota at their COMMUNITY CENTER. just a stone's throw from highway 10. you can find my booth {look for the cloth panel backdrops}...in the center vicinity of the LARGE gym.

when i started my business...i did this show for years and am excited about doing so again! so off i go to get some unique treasures together. i will give some peeks of projects + tidbits i am working on just for the FOCUS bazaar.

{57} varieties of ketchup

hey there everyone! how you all doing?? me? well today's title pretty well sums up my little corner of the world. i'm playing "ketchup"...{57} ways!

i couldn't help but pick up the "limited edition" bottle of heinz {below} the other day. it was on clearance and i liked the glass bottle + label. so now i am officially a ketchup "collector" {add to that the growing list}.

a collection requires more than one object to be just that...so i nabbed me a bottle of jalapeno ketchup {above} given the opportunity. this time because i LOVE all things spicy. just ask anyone who has witnessed me pulling a bottle of crushed red pepper out of my purse to spice up a lunch out. did i really just admit that to the whole world?? moving on...

alrighty...here's a variety of my plans to "ketchup". 

first...i'd like to send yet another big THANK YOU to everyone for stopping by patinaWHITE's studio event...round {2}! the 2nd weekend was just as much fun as the 1st. the weather held up as did the endurance of my wonderful helpers. thanks to my girls for sticking with me! not sure i would do the same in their shoes! but a little homemade chili & puddin' cups go a long way! just ask my ma!

another item i mentioned wanting to show you all were pictures of the studio ... these snapshots paint a pretty picture of what awaited on the opening eve! enjoy!

see the giant clock {below}?? one of my favorite p.white creations. first thing to sell @ the show? said clock...good thing i have one just like it already gracing my mantle. though mine doesn't actually function as this one did!

there were signs to direct traffic...

plus those to send out subliminal messages...

not to mention gifts for every good boy & girl...

and perhaps a sweet pet or two!

we were all feeling quite MERRY...and those stare lantern were quite BRIGHT

and beginning w/ the very 1st eve, everyone seemed to have a good night!

now...i must play a bit of a balancing act...

...sorting thru my pages of requests, notes & inquiries. please don't fret none if you don't hear from me right away. i am but a {1} woman circus...even though a close friend exclaimed "it's a mini beth!" when she saw the decked out manni {below}.

all silliness aside...again...many many thanks for making the BIG 1 a wonderful event! i so appreciate the excitement + support of all you kind & sweet folks...especially those bearing cappuccinos! {em...bev...you know who you are!}

so what of the remaining 55 varieties of ketchup i must tend to?? well...i think i will spare you the details of the laundry...dishes + sadly neglected hubby that require a bit of my attention. but know that this bona fide ketchup collector is on it! and will be tending to business as soon as the dust settles a bit.

time and time AGAIN!

hey there everyone! ok...i know...get a different theme beth...'nuff clocks already! but with the arrival of some new baubles & my never dying love of all things tick-tock tick-tock...call me a broken record...but it's 'bout that time AGAIN!  

the story line may not be all that fresh...but the merchandise sure is for 'round {2} of patinaWHITE's holiday event! with a revamp here...addition here...i even pulled out all the tricks bringing in my beloved black metal cabinet {below} i greedily want in my home. but that would require a sizeable addition since it's nearly bursting @ the seams already! *sigh*...

other treasures?? a pair of chunky 'ol corbels...with the addition of more glass battery jars since the first batch flew off the shelves...i mean cupboard!

and of course MORE jewelry will be making a premier appearance. little black dress anyone?? {below}

so...incase you're wondering here's the hours i will be here for your shopping pleasures...

time for the big 1

hey everyone! i have been in studio lock-down all this week. which means what exactly? that i barely left the building but to sleep, eat & use the bathroom {in no particular order} as i set the stage for my show. it also means that today is the first day that i put on make-up...wore something other than my dickies & curled my hair. and that's because i had to have my drivers license renewed. painting a pretty portrait here right?! 

but i do believe i created a pretty sight....that being the art of my annual event postcard! {below}.

the little girl that graces the front of this year's collage is holding up her index finger letting you all know it's almost time for the "big 1". which happens to be patinaWHITE's annual studio event! want the nitty gritty details?? well alrighty then...here is more on that! {below}

the calm before the storm

hey everyone! one word....WoW! patinaWHITE's {1st} weekend was amazing! many of the details remain a bit of a blur! i really can't thank everyone enough for trekking out to visit...standing in crazy long lines + enduring the mad rush of excited shoppers each & every day!

it certainly has been a great topic of conversation! i had {1} gal come back not once or twice, but 3 times to tell me that she saw something new each visit! partly because she took the time to really peek each time, partly because i worked every evening & again in the morning restocking as many goodies as possible! and continue to do so this week for my 2nd weekend showing!

so enough chatter...thought i would share some photos of the "calm before the storm"! enjoy!

it's almost time!

hey everyone! as my little composition {below} exclaims...TICK TOCK!

...it's almost time for my annual holiday studio event! the festivities commence on friday november 5th @ {5pm} for an evening soiree filled w/ so many fun goodies that i am giddy with excitement! so grab your girlfriends...

or maybe plan on meeting some new acquaintances that will be waiting...

 ...whatever the case may be...hop in your car...

...and make your way out to my country studio...located @ my home for a magical, one-of-a kind of shopping experience...

...because santa (or should i say mrs. claus??) & her elves have been very busy setting the stage with enchanting whimsies found + fabricated alike! 

you may just find the perfect gift for yourself + a special someone.

i should also mention that there will be some treats to tantilize your tastebuds (more like hot cider & sweet doughnut holes!)...

...which of course may thrill your children...who are always welcome! plus they can get ideas for their wishes to santa...
