hello hello! for those of you who've signed up to receive my good ol' fashion snail mail on patinaWHITE's annual event...be on the lookout for a postcard coming your way! even with the advent of snazzy technology (emails & facebook & texting...oh my!) i still like to send out something tangible. a memento of sorts. so i collaged a design just for you all!

i have heard from many of you that you like to collect my cards...hanging them on your fridge to admire. makes my heart soar considering that space is usually saved for treasured family photos & important notes. plus the occasional grocery and honey-do list. well it seemed pretty special until that last sentence! 

anywho...this year's art was inspired by a pile of collected ice-skates...in their worn & wonderful glory {see below}.

now without further hesitation (ramblings) here she is...miss america! ok, a tad dramatic...maybe not a beauty queen just yet but i think she is pretty darn cute! time to skate on in...

another creative brainstorm came about from that same basket of skates. with the addition of some fun ribbon, metal star, a "wordy" tag & festive greenery...this lone skate {below} would be an adorable addition to a wreath or front door. just {1} more treasure that will be waiting for you to see @ my holiday event!

oh yes! do you see the hints of the tallow berries tucked in the greens {above}? i was able to get my hands on some bunches after last year's absence of the hard-to-find white wonder. you really have to "skate" on by!

the fairy tale continues...

hey everyone! i've been playing a bit of catch up these days. my last hurrah for summer 2010 @ shady hollow was this past labor day weekend & it was a wild one! i've been hearing from a number of people that the lack of parking caused overflow to the highway ditches which ruffled some feathers w/ our state patrol. and my little cottage was bursting at the seams with excited shoppers. sometimes so much, in-fact, that many of you wonderful folks tried a few times to get in the door! thank you for your determination!

so..now what? well...the fairy tale of patinaWHITE continues in the form of my holiday show this november!

that's right! i am in the process of collecting, creating & setting the stage for my

if you are new to patinaWHITE...i offer {2} forms of shopping enjoyment thru the year. my summers are spent @ the shady hollow open air market {weekends} where my little cottage is snuggled in a mix of vendors + artisans. then...once a year i host a fun-filled, most unique environment from my studio located @ my home. it provides much more room for shopping {plus more goodies of course!} & also the added benefit of our beautiful surroundings!

so mark your calendar's folks! here is all the nitty gritty details to fill you in!

a fairy tale wouldn't be complete without some form of a hero! mine happens to the penguin prince i found guarding my porch from sneaky dragons & looking for his princess to rescue!

studio event! a big THANK U + part {deux}

all i can say is WOW! what a glorious start to {2} weekends filled with fun! the first weekend of my studio event started at 5pm this past friday eve & was a wild ride until closing on sunday! first off...to all the fabulous folks who journeyed out...i'll let the little girl in my created collage card do the talking...

 

i can't say it enough! i wouldn't be where i am today without the excitement of my loyal customers + the support of my family and friends...both those near & those far (i tell ya...i have met the nicest people thru this blog)!

today you'll find me pulling some tricks out of my hat for this coming weekend...part {deux} as the french say! there is never a shortage of fun goodies to be seen! i am busy restocking and recreating to make the second weekend show as special & fun as the first! oh, and yes! more treats and cider for all! unless my hubby gets to those chocolate chip cookies first! 

i played around with some "charming" hearts...i love these words together...

 

i unearthed a few more of a show favorite..shadow box charm bracelets. at only $20 they are a super gift! and they double as a pendant if you unclip from the bracelet & add to a neck chain!

 

on a side note...this weather we are having is for the birds...literally! and by that i mean BEAUTY-FULL! i tried to snap a picture of those darn fast chickadees. do you see it? maybe santa will bring me a camera with a better zoom! 

in addition to the birds coming out...so is more good "junk" that is waiting to be arranged in the studio! see...fresh wares await! i am lovin' the wooden trug. with it's quirky stick handle and silly little feet the reason it's still here is i was unsure if i wanted to sell it! as of posting time i am still on the fence!

 

time for me to get back to work! now that i am caught up on my sleep and there is a grand day ahead of me i have no excuses not to get things done! and again...."thanks a bunch"! you all are appreciated more than words or "happy" little girls can express!

friday's favorite {alphabet soup}

hey everyone!  i haven't posted my "friday's favorite"  for a couple weeks so it's time i got back on board and did so right now! as i began set-up for my november STUDIO EVENT i unearthed some fabulous letters that have been waiting for the right moment to make their premier! it's no secret that i am a fan of all things numeric & letter driven! have a peek at the start of some displays featuring these little wonders {below}

that fella {above} is "with the band" and is cock-a-doodling his little heart out...band stand style! these cheerful alphabet blocks + old letters send out his message! and on another note...isn't the bike wheel "wreath" just fantastic? just a few of the goodies that await! you'll find them happily gathered in an old battery jar and fishbowl {shown below} for your digging enjoyment.
