greetings show & tell friends!
with only two weekend left @ shady hollow i am trying to make the most of the time remaining. which means taking a step back & looking at some items that...though...i am very fond of...may need a "new" spin put on them to find their forever home. time for a little R & R. reinvent and reimagine.
i thought this cube-like pendant {below} i made was wonderful (if i do say so myself). sporting great colors, meaningful snippets + a unique look. but it wasn't finding it's way into another set of adoring hands. so i brought it home. it needed some love. a fresh perspective.
first...the chain & ribbon i had it strung on wasn't right. and the finish was too bright of silver in it's natural state. so i oxidized it. dangled it from a beautiful pearl chain in complementary tones...and decided it needed a companion. this skeleton key does the trick. i was a fan before. but even more so now!
moving on. many of my wares available @ patinaWHITE are both collected + created. recently i brought in a wonderful line of zinc accents. i originally thought the 3-D magnet boards seemed to work left as is - just plain & simple. but again...they lacked the "zest" to fly out the door. time to change it up a bit. so a border added from old yardsticks gives it a whole new look {below}. still great...only better! now zinc with zing!
i have been creating typewriter bracelets for nearly as long as i have been in business (8 years next month!). and they continue to draw interest to this day so i continue to make 'em. but there are only so many vintage typewriters out there. let me tell ya...i have done my fair share of salvaging those no longer worthy of use or display. time to use up those keys i have. which means a 3 may become an E or a Z is a good stand-in for a N. plus this jaunty looks makes them even more of a one-of-a-kind. as you'll see in the number {below}.
what to do with the boxes of pins & baubles slowly overtaking my house? well maybe think about bringing them back to like again. goodness knows i won't be able to take them all with me when i "go". so i will work on not saving (um...hoarding) so much. maybe. baby steps...
here is an attempt at just that. an enameled pin now is a spankin' cute magnet. now...will i actually sell it or just save AGAIN in it's altered state. time will tell.
there's more. but oh...not enough day left for it. so i will say farewell to you all now. and hang out with my new "friends" as i gather the goods to showcase tomorrow. or perhaps i will just hold onto them for a tiny bit longer?? my mom did teach me to share with others. i just need to be coaxed into it at times!
thanks for popping by today! i hope you enjoyed sharing a little R&R with me!
happy day!
